Les Mills Pilates is a modern fitness program designed for group classes. The exercises are choreographed, often set to music, and designed to improve strength, flexibility, and endurance in a dynamic and motivating atmosphere. It’s more of a fitness workout where fun and group dynamics are paramount.

Classical Pilates, on the other hand, originates from Joseph Pilates and focuses on precise movements, control, and body awareness. The aim is to strengthen muscles in a targeted manner, especially the core muscles, improve posture, and execute movements cleanly. Music or choreography plays almost no role – what matters is the technique and the connection between breath and movement.

In short: Les Mills Pilates is like a motivating fitness adventure in a group, while classical Pilates is a rather calm, precise method to consciously strengthen and stabilize the body.

After a few months of regular Les Mills PILATES training, many participants report these effects:

  • Stronger core: Abdominal, back and pelvic floor muscles become more stable, which can give you better posture and less back pain in everyday life.

  • More flexibility: The combination of stretching and strengthening makes the hips, shoulders and spine more supple.

  • Better posture & balance: By consciously working on alignment and core balance, you often stand and walk more upright.

  • More strength in arms and legs: Especially when doing exercises with support positions or long levers.

  • Well-being & stress reduction: Many find the mixture of flowing movements, breathing and music relaxing – similar to yoga, but more athletic.

  • Tighter body feeling: The stomach, bottom and thighs often feel firmer and more defined after a few weeks.

Of course, the exact effect depends on how often you train, how intensively you work and whether you do other forms of exercise in addition.

With energy and a good mood, you already have the most important things with you! Please also remember to wear clean indoor shoes and bring a towel. Appropriate sportswear and something to drink are an advantage. All other training materials will be provided by us. You will find these in front of or in the corresponding course room. However, you are of course welcome to bring your own (yoga) mat.
