Regular exercise during pregnancy has many benefits for you and your baby. Physical activity helps to reduce typical complaints such as back pain, water retention and tiredness. At the same time, you strengthen your muscles, improve your posture and optimally prepare your body for the birth. It incorporates elements of Pilates, yoga, strength training, pelvic floor exercises and stretching exercises. You will also receive valuable information about exercise during pregnancy.

But it’s not just your body that benefits: exercise releases endorphins, which increase your well-being and reduce stress. Exercise can also prevent gestational diabetes, promote blood circulation and even have a positive effect on the birth process.

Our pregnancy gymnastics classes include exercises for targeted breathing techniques, pelvic floor awareness, relaxation exercises and gentle movements that can optimally prepare the body for birth. Not only can you strengthen your muscles, but you can also relieve tension and get in the mood for the birth.

However, it is not a birth preparation class!

The main difference between the two classes is as follows:

  • Pregnancy gymnastics focuses on physical fitness and well-being during pregnancy. It includes targeted exercises to strengthen the pelvic floor, alleviate complaints such as back pain or water retention and promote mobility.

  • A birth preparation course, on the other hand, provides comprehensive knowledge about birth, the birth process, breathing techniques, relaxation methods and dealing with contractions. Partner exercises, information on coping with pain and tips for the postpartum period are also often covered.

So while pregnancy gymnastics focuses on physical activity and fitness, the birth preparation course specifically prepares you for the birth process and the first time with your baby. Both courses complement each other perfectly!
