What is a cryosauna?
The cryosauna (also known as whole-body cryotherapy) uses the effects of extremely cold air to trigger targeted reactions in the body. During the brief application of approximately 2–4 minutes, the cold causes the blood vessels to constrict and then expand again – a process that sustainably improves blood circulation, oxygen supply, and metabolism.

This is how a cryosauna session at GYYM works
- When using the product, wear only your underwear/tight-fitting and dry swimwear.
- You will receive socks, slippers, gloves and a scarf from us to keep your hands and feet warm
- As soon as you’re ready, let’s get started: off into the cold for 2-4 minutes at temperatures as low as -160°C!
- The entire session will be accompanied and monitored by a trained staff member. We’ll stay by your side the entire time to ensure everything runs smoothly.

Important information about the cryosauna
Please only book a cryo session if you have consulted your GP beforehand. A health questionnaire will be completed, dated and signed together at the start of the treatment.
If the cryosauna is suitable for you, you can start right away and, if you wish, also purchase a practical 10-session card.
Note the following:
- Underwear, skin and hair must be completely dry
- Cryosauna after training: Make sure you don’t sweat afterward
- Your skin should be undamaged (no skin injuries, open wounds, etc.)
- Only come in good physical and mental condition
- The last meal before use should have been taken no earlier than 4 hours and no later than 1 hour
- Any metal parts must be removed (jewelry, watches, etc.)
Frequently asked questions about cryosauna or cold therapy
Yes! Cryosauna is very effective for weight loss. At -160°C, your body has to expend a tremendous amount of energy to maintain its core temperature. This burns up to 800 calories per session. The afterburn effect lasts for up to 6 hours and further boosts your metabolism.
Cryosauna weight loss experiences show: You’ll feel the first effects after just 2-3 sessions. For visible weight loss results, we recommend 2-3 cryotherapy weight loss sessions per week for 4-6 weeks.
